Newest Microsoft Lumia 950 XL rumors tackle pricing, accessories, software

Unknown
With Samsung and Apple somewhat out of the spotlight now that their fall 2014 “big guns” are official, it’s time for professional rumormongers to turn the focus squarely on Google and Microsoft. Both tech giants will throw their own mobile heavyweight contenders in the ring over the next few weeks, and the Huawei Nexus 6P and Lumia 950 XL should go directly up against the iPhone 6s Plus in almost every way.
That’s right, including retail costs, or at least that’s what a French publication claims to have heard from tipsters in relation to the world’s first Windows 10 phablet. This will apparently nearly match the recommended price of the best iPhone to date, though of course certain market variations are possible.
In Europe, the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL is tipped to make your hefty acquisition worth it with a series of bundled accessories, normally appraised at around €200 in total. The most enticing item part of the gift package might be the highly anticipated Continuum Dock, letting you seamlessly attach the handheld from a PC monitor or TV set, and control the ensemble by mouse and keyboard.
In addition to the ingenious accessory, you’ll probably score a complimentary Bluetooth speaker, and an upgraded version of a so-called NFC Treasure Tag first released under the Nokia brand early last year.
It remains to be seen if all this will manage to sweeten the extravagant deal, particularly as Microsoft is said to delay Windows 10 Mobile Threshold 2 adoption. That’s no real reason to worry, though, as the Threshold 1 OS should run smoothly out the box, and greatly improve everything that needed refinement in Windows Phone 8.1.
Besides, rumor is the Threshold 2 update shall roll out over-the-air to the Lumia 950 and 950 XL a mere month after their commercial launches, i.e. sometime in November.
