Could we be a week away from the Xiaomi Mi 5?

From the outside looking in, we think Xiaomi to be a crazy little OEM with some crazy devoted fans. But we’d be crazy not to pay attention to what it and the community have been hyping about. Be it the three iterationsof the Mi 4 or the upcoming Mi 5 and Mi 5 Plus, the company has done a great job in keeping up the counter for its release lineup in its relatively young days, if only to cover up the fact that it’s a bit late for a firmly new flagship.

Just a few weeks off of introducing the Mi 4c to the market, we’re now speculating about what could be in store next Monday, October 19, as another Xiaomi press event is being teased.

The first line says “Xiaomi’s next-generation products.” The second says “conference.” We all know what the third line should read as.

The company’s also giving 20 randomly selected commenters on its Weibo post a chance to be at the press event themselves.

We’ve counted 17 months since Xiaomi launched the Mi 4. Maybe it’s time for a refresher.
