Twitter adds ads to Moments

Well that didn't take long. Twitter announced Friday that it will begin monetizing its newMoments feature, which launched at the start of the month. The company will begin leasing a single Moments channel for 24 hours to advertisers who will be free to curate and post both tweets and video content.
The announcement comes as Twitter moves further into "native advertising" as a means of countering users' rapidly developing resistance to conventional advertising. "Promoted Moments will have all the features of a Moment you see right now, and instead of curators creating the moment, it'll be a brand," Matt Derella, Twitter's vice president of revenue for North America, told Bloomberg. "The real estate they get is going to be really prominently displayed." The first such advertiser to take advantage of the Promoted Moments campaign will reportedly be the new Rocky reboot, Creed.
