New NASA Video Shows The Sun In Stunning Ultra-High Definition

Unknown

NASA has released a 30-minute, ultra-high definition 4K video of the sun called "Thermonuclear Art." The footage, which was taken by the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) spacecraft, is set to a trippy soundtrack from German musician Lars Leonhard.
"SDO captures images of the Sun in 10 different wavelengths, each of which helps highlight a different temperature of solar material," NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center said in a news release. "Different temperatures can, in turn, show specific structures on The Sun such as solar flares, which are gigantic explosions of light and x-rays, or coronal loops, which are stream of solar material traveling up and down looping magnetic field lines."
The video "presents the nuclear fire of our life-giving star in intimate detail, offering new perspective into our own relationships with grand forces of the solar system," NASA said.
Check it out in the clip above.
