In the digital wallet service war, Samsung Pay holds a paramount ace up its sleeve over both Apple Pay andAndroid Pay in MST (Magnetic Secure Transmission) technology. That means you can use a Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, Edge+, and Note 5 to authorize mobile transactions virtually anywhere in the US, including stores lacking NFC support.
Add a greater and greater list of banking partners and gift card compatibility into the equation, and you have to guess literally everybody with access to Samsung Pay at least drive-tested the app at this point. Not to mention more people should be able to get in on the fun before long on low-end phones.
But a rebooted US-only promotion suggests adoption numbers remain unimpressive, as new “recruits” once again score free wireless charging pads upon activating Samsung Pay and registering a valid credit or debit card by November 8.
