Pre-order the Nextbit Robin soon, and you can score a special holiday gift

Unknown

Nextbit introduced the Robin smartphone back in September as part of a crowdfunding project, spinning the tale of an affordable, powerful, cloud-friendly handset and inviting shoppers to pledge their money in the hopes of making this dream a reality. Interest has exploded since then, and we’ve seen Nextbit repeatedly up the ante as it made Robin available to more and more potential users, coming out with CDMA support. The crowdfunding may be over, but you’ve still got the chance to pre-order the phone ahead of its February arrival. If you do so now – and we mean right friggin’ now – you’ve got a chance at upgrading that pre-order with a special holiday gift.
Let’s say you think the Nextbit Robin would make a sweet holiday gift for the smartphone fan in your life. Cool, but that February availability kinds puts a damper on gift-giving, no? Instead of arriving at the holiday party with an IOU, Nextbit is hooking up customers who pre-order the Robin today with a collectible vinyl sheep – the Nextbit mascot.
Normally a $40 extra, that figurine is being given away as a free holiday bonus to the first 100 shoppers to pre-order the Robin today for the usual $400 sticker price.
This info just crossed our news desk now, but the deal’s been running since the morning, so a lot of those 100 pre-order have likely already been claimed – hence the need to make haste. As of press time, it doesn’t look like all of them are gone quite yet, and if you scroll to the bottom of the pre-order page (though the source link), you should still see an option to claim your “holiday special” package.
