Google Play is changing the way it displays consumer ratings

Unknown
Let’s face it, whenever we’re faced with the decision to buy something, consumer ratings play a big roll. Yes, there are cases where an app was recommended by a friend, and where the buying process is a lot simpler, but whenever that’s not the case, a few more or less stars will define which note taking app we’ll purchase for example. Google Play has been doing ratings since day one for its apps, but the way this works is silently changing.
Google is rolling out a new a and very welcomed change to Google Play. In the past you would see from one to five stars on an app depending on how consumers rated it. Today, instead of an amount of stars, you’ll actually only see a star and a number beside it that details exactly how well the app has been rated in a numerical value. This is actually a good idea, as four stars isn’t always four stars, and is in some cases 4.3 or 4.6.
This new change helps add some clarity to the rating information, even though some of us did prefer the visual aspect of seeing more or less stars on a list. You be the judge over which way works best for you. The change should be rolling out to your devices soon.
