HTC One A9, Vive, other smartphones expected to boost figures in Q4

Unknown

In the first three quarters of 2015, HTC has suffered a net loss of NT$12.15 billion (US$372.39 million), reports DigiTimes, but the Taiwanese company is looking to turn that around in the last quarter of the year. HTC has already announced the HTC One M9+ and HTC Butterfly 3 in Japan, as well as the Desire 728 dual sim in China.
However, according to unnamed sources cited by the publication, more phones are expected from HTC in the last quarter of the year, both mid-rangers, as well as high-end devices. The HTC One A9 — the name is as good as confirmed — will be unveiled, according to DigiTimes, on October 20 at events happening in New York, London and New Delhi. It is expected to be an Android 6.0 Marshmallow-powered mid-ranger, but not the only smartphone this year.
The HTC Vive VR headset we’ve seen this year at MWC 2015 is also expected during this period, and, in together with the rest of the devices, will help turn around the company’s unlucky streak, and boost its figures.
At yesterday’s Microsoft event, the Redmond-based company emphasized that the event will be all about Microsoft products, but hinted that other manufacturers will follow suit with their own announcements of new products. Whether HTC is preparing a Windows 10-based smartphone or not is yet unknown, but, in case it does, that could also bring its contribution.
