Windows 10 new Start Menu suggestions may seem more like ads

Unknown
Even though the Windows ecosystem isn’t short of all the apps that users may need to become productive, the whole concept of giving users an App Store has taken its time to gain traction. Windows 10 is all about ending all the confusion of Windows 8.1, and making the experience more delightful to the user, and as such, ways to discover new apps are always welcome. Those of you already trying Windows 10 build 10565 that was pushed to the fast ring two days ago might’ve noticed something focused on just that.
Within the new and enhanced Start Menu, you might notice that there’s a new section called “Suggested Apps.” The idea is to suggest new app options for users, but given the fact that these don’t seem to be tailored for the user, this is spurring some discontent in that it might be a section for showing ads. At the moment there is no such confirmation that Microsoft is actually receiving money for this, so we can’t really call them ads, but if you do find this feature annoying, you can actually disable it. Go to Settings / Personalization / Start and toggle the “Occasionally show suggestions in Start” to switch it off.
Windows 10 keeps getting better by the update, no matter how controversial certain features are. Let’s hope Microsoft doesn’t pull annoying ads going forward.
