Xiaomi Mi 5 prematurely listed at e-tailer with full spec sheet, $600 price tag

Despite what the name suggests, Oppomart isn’t officially affiliated with China-based device manufacturer Oppo, which instead sells its growingly popular unlocked phones through an e-store called Oppostyle.
Oppomart may however be your go-to third-party retailer for Oppo, OnePlus, Huawei, ZTE, Xiaomi, Meizu, and LeTV equipment always ready to ship internationally, as well as a surprisingly proficient bearer of early insight into unreleased gear.
The latest exposé concerns the Xiaomi Mi 5, tipped to only make its formal debut on January 21 after a few delays caused by legal complications and the OEM’s focus on delivering the best possible hardware.
This apparently includes a 64-bit 2.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor (quad, not octa-core), 4GB DDR4 RAM, up to 128GB internal storage space, 20 and 8MP cameras, a 3,800 mAh battery, 5.5-inch Quad HD display, and global 4G LTE support.
Should you trust everything the e-tailer lists in an obvious bid for pre-launch hype and free publicity? Of course not, although certain specs were previously hinted at by other sources, while the rest just make sense.
SD820? It’s going to be mighty hard for Xiaomi to justify the huge time gap between the Mi 4 and Mi 5 rollouts if the latter packs any other chip. 4 gigs of memory? It’s standard stuff in the high-end Android segment nowadays.
Those stellar cams and that massive juicer are slightly harder to believe, especially the latter, given the 5.7-inch Mi Note and Mi Note Pro barely offered 3,000 mAh stamina. But let’s place our confidence in the online electronics merchant for now, and hope for the best. Also, perhaps a lower price than the $600 anticipated at the moment, at least in an “entry-level” 16GB ROM configuration.
