Samsung sales may be on decline, but it still tops smartphone market

Unknown
This has been a good year for Samsung, and mainly if you compare it to how the company was performing over the two last previous years. Surely Galaxy phones are not what we loved them to be, specially if we remember Samsung’s approach to phablets in the past, but this formula has seemed to work well for the company regardless. Today we get more details on how the marketshare is behaving, and Sammy seems to be ok.
Asian analysts are already providing insight on global marketshare and we notice that even though Samsung’s sales are on decline, the margin is not only low, but also far from being reached by any competitor. Samsung’s share measured 24.6%, which even though slightly lower than last quarter’s 24.7%, is still way above Apple which trails in second at 13.7%. Even then, Apple is also on decline from the 15.4% that was reported last quarter as well, and with only players like Huawei showing some minor growth.
These numbers actually match what US analysts were reporting on a few days ago, so it seems that now that every company’s conference calls are set for the next few weeks, a lot more details will surface as to why these numbers are trending this way. So far, it’s clear that the mid-to-low end market is seeing more dominance by other players.
